You’re here for the selection of the best pickups for baritone guitars, yeah? You in the right place!
First, to get twangy tic tac/6SB tones, we believe it is “the clankier the pickup, the better”. I know it sounds odd, but for fat sounding pickups that may sound bad on a regular Tele may be too wolly and warm for a 6SB.
Another trick that worked in my case is to turn up the bass knob on your AMP DOWN all the way, and =I love to turn the reverb UP.

DiMarzio {FEEDTITLE} Electric Guitar Gig Bag (DP100FBK) – Best Pickup for Baritone Guitar
I’m a lover of playing, building, and repairing guitars and I have been doing that for the past 20 years. I must admit – the DiMarzio Super Distortion Humbucker (DP100) is my go-to pickup for ANY application.
No doubt, this is the best humbucker for baritone guitar out there. Nothing beats the sound this tube AMP makes. It is so clean, and I tell you that this is the best sounding clean pickup for Baritone Guitar you’d ever enjoy.
The 4 conductor wiring makes you enjoy a great experience. I recently installed 3 of these into my newly bought Paul Custom. I used pull/push pots so each pickup could change to single coil, and have phase reversal.
The result? A bad-ass Rod Les Paul that produces heavenly sound.
Bottom line: THIS PICKUP DOES IT ALL!!

Seymour Duncan SLS-1 RWRP Lipstick Tube Strat Pickup – Middle (RWRP) – Good Pickup for Baritone Guitar
I bought a set of these recently to use on my Danelctro guitars. These sounds like a guitar I have never played before.
They installed quickly without stress. They are a perfect sized replacement fit to a Fender single coil pickups.
Wiring is a good 3 wire (single coil – separate ground) and the cable itself comes in an aluminium foil shield that totally surrounds the dual signal wire for the coil.
Some reviewers on Amazon claim that they are “Jangly”. However, they possess a clarity in the top end that is surprising, but they also are beefy sounding in the low end.
One thing that surprised me is the bridge pickup, which does not have the almost shrill sound I’m used to hearing with stock Strats.
One thing that won my heart is that fact that these are very quiet, both mechanically and hum-wise. Without pole pieces sticking out of the tops, if you happen to press a string against the pickup, there is no click.
If you open the tone controls up on the guitar, they sound like they would handle a bit of country twang with ease.

This is a wonderful pickup! It comes with lots of bite with added warmth.
I have Dimarzio virtual vintage pro and solo pro strat pups in my quasi baritone and they are very clear and twangy.
